However, resistance is rising rapidly, particularly in Candida auris - one of the World Health Organization's highest-priority fungal threats. The newest echinocandin, rezafungin, solved major dosing and stability limitations through convenient once-weekly administration, yet remains vulnerable to the same resistance mechanisms threatening the entire class.

 

Our Breakthrough

We have developed what may represent the next evolutionary step in antifungal therapy: Third-Generation Echinocandins. Using a practical two-step synthetic transformation, we created entirely new chemical entities that restore activity against echinocandin-resistant fungal strains while preserving the favorable properties of current therapies.
